About the Office of Undergraduate Curriculum
Misson
The Office of Undergraduate Curriculum (OUC) is dedicated to fostering innovative, integrative, accessible, and learning-centered experiences and programs that support the holistic growth and academic excellence of all Virginia Tech students.
Values Statement
Grounded in values of integrity, inclusivity, collaboration, and care, we partner with faculty, staff, and students to strengthen curriculum, enhance teaching, and uphold the value of a Virginia Tech education.
Description
The OUC provides leadership for the Pathways General Education and First-Year Experience (FYE) programs by providing governance support, grant funding, broad communication, assessment and evaluation, scholarship, and faculty training and professional development. In addition, OUC provides central support for these programs, as well as university-wide curricular initiatives (e.g., AI fluency) and improvement projects (e.g., student belonging in foundational STEM), by facilitating institutional team efforts, maintaining strong campus partnerships and community, working in a fiscally responsible manner, and elevating the programs nationally.
