Ashley Offutt
Nice to virtually meet you! With more than a decade of experience in student affairs and academic support, I’ve built my career around uplifting and empowering underserved student populations. I’m known for thoughtful leadership, creative programming, and a deep commitment to student success. At Virginia Tech, I lead initiatives that support students each year, collaborating across Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs, while partnering with academic colleges and cultural centers to create meaningful, impactful experiences.
Previously, I served as Director of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion at Radford University, leading equity-focused initiatives and advising student organizations. My earlier roles at Eastern Kentucky University and Berea College reflect my ongoing commitment to retention, mentorship, and leadership development for first-generation students and those with significant financial need. I’m also a passionate educator and speaker, having taught African American Studies and presented nationally on leadership, organizational communication, diversity, and student engagement. I hold an M.Ed. in Student Personnel and a B.A. in Communication Studies (minor in African American Studies) from Eastern Kentucky University, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education at Virginia Tech.
