To advance progress to degree and graduation while maintaining the quality of the academic and social experience at Virginia Tech. Navigate will support this goal through its mission:

Navigate technology supports the coordination of student support services to move toward a more seamless student experience by tracking engagement and wellness, allowing for proactive interventions that support student belonging.

Goals for 2025-26

Goal 1: Define and strengthen participation in the coordinated care network

Ensure that all units and individuals contributing to student support through Navigate understand their roles, responsibilities, and expectations for collaboration within the platform.

Goal 2: Audit and Improve Intervention Tools to Better Meet the Mission

Ensure the referral system is structured to capture meaningful, mission-aligned indicators of student disengagement or concern, and that it is easy and intuitive for staff to use.

Goal 3: Strengthen Faculty Engagement with Early Alerts (VTEARs) Through Strategic Communication and Clarified Use Cases

Ensure that faculty understand when and how to submit VTEARS in order to identify student concerns early and connect students with appropriate support resources across campus.
