Add reminders and tasks to stay organized

Your Navigate Checklist is a personalized to-do list designed to help you stay on track throughout your time at Virginia Tech. You'll receive to-dos, tips, and events based on how you answered the Welcome Survey, plus other important items from your support team. You can even create your own personal to-dos! Note that Checklists are not a comprehensive list of every task you need to be successful at VT but a place to start and stay in-the-know.

To get to your Checklist, look for the Checklist icon on the apps menu.

Here’s what you might see in your Checklist:

  • To-Dos are action items that help you move forward. You might get reminders about things like meeting with your advisor, registering for classes, or completing a task for financial aid.
  • Tips are quick pieces of advice related to topics you said you care about like finding study support, getting involved, or managing stress.
  • Events help you stay in the loop about important dates and opportunities, like workshops, career fairs, or deadlines such as the FAFSA.

You can check off or dismiss items as you complete them. Your checklist is sorted by due date, so the most urgent tasks will always appear at the top. After that, any flagged items will show next, followed by items without a due date.

To stay organized, you can filter your checklist by type or status. Some of the categories you might see include:

  • To-Do (from Navigate or your support team)
  • Personal To-Do (items you’ve added)
  • Staff To-Do (items added by a staff member at VT just for you!)
  • Tip
  • Event
